Three nights, a dose of youtube playlist, and a hint of loneliness.

Dear People, How Are You [2]

1. Been thinking about changing the template and the header, I don't think colors suit me well.
2. Been busy working. Drawing before bed has become a way of getting revenge out of my 'stolen' hours. Sometimes my hands were too weak to draw and I still forced myself to draw. It feels like mumbling on your last minutes before you fell asleep, it feels nice.
3. Is this what they called as quarter life crisis? Or is it just a typical phase every young Jakartan has to pass? You know, the type of oh-how-other-people-life-is-much-better-than-me phase.
4. Hideaki Anno collapsed into a 4 years depression before he made Evangelion. I'm not sure if this is depression, but I do feel a reduction of self esteem.
5. Luckily, 2014 is coming this way.

Dear People, How Are You?

Not much to tell. Just got into a new office, new working hours (12 hours a day, sometimes more). Been having best friends (yes, friend's', not just one) leaving abroad. Been feeling like missing everyone = having the need to talk to people = you might find words more in my blog now, I beg your pardon. Here's a mini slide show of some things that I might accidentally hide from you, dear readers. In a reverse order.

I cut my hair. Again. The third time in these past 5 months.

My works for JAMS. Were continued as another set for an upcoming exhibition.

One of my sweet achievement this year: our dear exhibition. We even got featured on Kompas and Tempo! "Feels like we're the coolest girl gang in town," one of us told me. Amazing moment.

Last but not least: Did I tell you that I lived in Melbourne for 2 months? This was before I got in my current job. In short: quitting my old job and hoping to find enlightenment by applying some courses overboard. Successfully worked as a volunteer at two galleries. Watched Trail of Dead and Local Natives. Missed King Tuff's show. Two weeks after I left, Boris came to Melbourne *though luck. Feeling like missing those days now. Those feels-like-a-really-long-dream days.

And there you go. My 6 months recap in one post. Pardon me for this big urge of talking I'm having. So then, how are you?

Body Festival

A group exhibition that we have been prepared from February. Whew! And it's finally going to happen in a couple days! Me and my friends, Annisa Utami and Natasha Gabriella Tontey will exhibit artworks with human bodies as our theme. The poster design was greatly made by Natasha Gabriella Tontey. Please mark your date! The opening will be on Thursday, July 4th, 2013, at Ruang Rupa Gallery, Tebet, and will start at 7 PM. See you there!

A City Sorrow Built

A work for A City Sorrow Built, a band from Bali. They're the kind of band that's hard to forget - the first time I watched them, the singer was singing barefoot, without using any mic, just screaming the lyrics out. This work will be produced as their merchandise by their record label, Sailboat Record. Go follow their bandcamp and their record label! / A City Sorrow Built

.

And when I thought my blog can make me more productive; two months left unupdated. And an entire month passed without making any drawings. Someone scold me, please.

Alon Alon Asal Kelakon

My work for Kopi Keliling vol. 07. Alon-Alon Asal Kelakon is an old saying from Javanese, which can be translated as: 'slow but sure'.
A drawing collage with markers as the coloring. I (well..we) cut the objects and paste them above each other, so they would look (somehow) layered. Please don't hesitate to take a closer look. Anyway, big thanks for all the help to make this possible to finish on time!

Sneak Peek(s)

I hope late updating hasn't become my new hobby. These last two months are probably one of the busy moment of my late office. For short, in the last two months I have been; finishing some (a lot) works from my last office before I finally resigned, preparing some things for studying aboard, arranging a group exhibition, reading books and buying new ones without finishing the old ones, and listening to some great bands who keep me wishing to be born years earlier. And so, for the two months late update, here are some sneak peeks from some of my new works.

This post will end with my favorite closing line: Hoping to see you at my future exhibitions. Ciao!

Featured on Motiff Living

Me and my friend, Astrid, were asked to contribute some works for Motiff Living. As nature was picked as the theme, I decided to draw one of my favorite things from the ocean; sea corals.

Together with Taju, the three of us will be having our works sold on their website. They're also having an exhibition this week at Pondok Indah Mall. Do click here for more info on the event, and don't forget to come if you have a chance *today will be their last day, by the way! The photos below were taken from the first day.

Thank you, Motiff Living for this chance! Hope we can work together again, sometime soon ;)
